Woodland Vet Hospital Fall 2018 Update

Dog Training
Our first round of puppy classes have been such a success that we are offering another round! Our Puppy Preschool and Kindergarten classes are taught indoors where there is less distraction for your dog. Puppies from 7-12 weeks of age are eligible to sign up for Puppy Preschool, and will need to have had at least one DHPP vaccine, as well as their Bordetella vaccine. Puppies from 4-8 months of age are eligible for Kindergarten, and will need to be current on their Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

The next puppy classes begin on October 21st, 2018! Each four week course is $125. Puppy preschool will run from 5-6pm and Kindergarten class will run from 6-7pm. You must register and pay for the course in order to hold a spot for “Spot”! Spots will go fast, so give us a call at 530-666-2461 and enroll your puppy today!

Agility is back too! Have you seen our agility yard? It’s packed with fun jumps, tunnels, and see-saws – just waiting for you and your dog to come, learn, and enjoy! Woodland Veterinary Hospital offers evening agility classes taught by Candy Gaiser. Candy’s experience as an agility competitor, trainer, and judge will serve your dog well, regardless of his or her skill level and experience.

New agility classes start on October 27th, 2018! Each six week course is $155. Call 530-666-2461 to reserve your spot today!

Dogs must be current on DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. Owner must bring vaccination records to the first class, dogs must have lived in your home for at least seven days AND must be friendly towards dogs and people!

Our Pet Hotel is Taking Reservations!

Have you ever been on a tour of our boarding facility? Come on by – we would love to show you around! With the holiday season coming up, many people travel and look for a last-minute place for their pets to stay. We feature comfortable, safe facilities to accommodate cats, dogs, and pocket pets, with a wide range of options to upgrade their stay and give them all the pampering of home! We are always a popular destination during the winter holidays, but many owners even opt to board their pets on Halloween (less chance of eating the kids’ candy or getting scared during nightly mischief). We strongly encourage early reservations for your furry family members, as we fill up fast for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays – particularly for larger dogs.

We Have Emergency Hours!

People are often surprised to learn that we have late night emergency hours! In order to be there for your pet and your family, Woodland Veterinary Hospital is open until 9pm for emergency services during the weekdays. On Saturdays we remain open until 6pm, and on Sundays a veterinarian is on call from 9am-6pm.

Veterinary emergencies come in all varieties, some more evident than others. Above all other questions, if your pet is not acting like himself, he may be having a medical emergency. While there are many signs that can indicate sickness in your pet, we want you to feel informed and ready to act in case of a veterinary emergency. You can always feel free to call our hospital to speak to a staff member – we will always help you decide if an emergency visit is the right choice for you. If your pet’s medical signs are difficult to pin down, sometimes “acting weird” can be the start of a medical emergency. Our doctors are only a phone call away, and peace of mind is sometimes worth the hospital visit. We hope to be there for you in times of need for you and your pet.
